Requirements

  • PhD in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with very good knowledge in Organic Chemistry
  • Passion for Process Development, Scale up, and Industrialization
  • Strong expertise in the use of heterogeneous catalysis for industry-relevant reactions
  • Hands-on experience in preparing, testing, and characterizing solid catalysts
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member to achieve results
  • Dynamic, open-minded, and creative thinker with a strong will to tackle new challenges
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate in an interdisciplinary environment
  • Fluent in English (C1), proficiency in French is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Designing and planning experiments for the assigned research projects.
  • Testing of the catalysts in batch or under continuous operation aiming at developing the most suited process for scale up.
  • Monitoring reactions and analysing compounds of interest applying classical and new analytical methods (GC, HPLC, NMR, FT-IR/NIR,…).
  • Managing research projects during the development and industrialization phase.
  • Participating as an active member of global chemical and technology community.
  • Meeting high environmental and safety standards in lab work as well as with respect to the developed processes.
  • Writing of technical reports and reporting of work progress including presentation in projects meetings.
  • Maintaining high level of expertise through the review of the current scientific literature (publication), industrial state-of-the-art (patents), and participation in scientific seminars and meetings.
