Responsibilities

  • Administratively responsible for business development and ancillary departments. Departments of oversight include Food and Nutrition Services (FNS), Pharmacy, Radiology, Laboratory, Environmental Services (EVS), and other duties as delegated.
  • Promote clinical integration, improvement, and alignment to advance quality outcomes while monitoring metrics.
  • Instill a culture devoted to hardwiring safety initiatives and committed to achieving and sustaining clinical quality targets and reducing variations of care within the hospital.
  • Direct activities that support compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements.
  • Oversee ancillary operations by supporting, mentoring, and advising managers in the provision of safe and appropriate services.
  • Responsible for ensuring the achievements of key performance indicators and metrics specific to direct areas of oversight.
  • Participate in strategic planning and execute on strategies specific to areas of oversight.
  • Responsible for ensuring the achievement of the hospital's goals in the areas of satisfaction for all stakeholders, including patient, physicians, and employees.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians, departments, staff, and the hospital's leadership team.
  • Incorporate customer needs and expectations into daily operations and business planning strategies.
  • Track and evaluate departmental performance and hold staff accountable for achieving service expectations.
  • Participate in the preparation of the operating and capital budgets for areas of responsibility.
  • Oversee the provision of quality care and service through progressive management, efforts to expand volume growth, and making improvements through cost discipline.
  • Manage the approved budget and adjust strategies as needed to meet budget expectations.
  • Plan, organizes, and oversee daily operations for maximum effective utilization of employees, equipment, and materials within budget allocation and quality standards.
  • Evaluate staffing and qualification requirements for reporting departments in conjunction with entity's leadership.
  • Promote diversity efforts for the organization.
  • Participate in reward and recognition of individual and team accomplishments.
  • Oversee personnel functions including staffing, performance review, and corrective actions.
  • Promote professional growth, development, accountability, and a support structure for shared decision-making with an emphasis on inter/interdepartmental teamwork and team accomplishments.
  • Lead hospital and/or system committees, task force or teams.
  • Develop and promote varied change initiatives to enhance care delivery and professional performance.
  • Recognize and communicate ethical and legal concerns through established channels of communication.
  • Engage in self-performance appraisals, identifying areas of strength as well as areas of professional practice development.
  • Network with peers to share ideas, conduct mutual problem solve, and to implement best practices.
