Requirements

  • As a highly skilled, experienced property lawyer, you’ll have significant knowledge of complex Property transactions and Highways Law and practice.
  • With strong post qualification experience you will have the ability to supervise junior lawyers and to work as part of a team to ensure the provision of quality, client focussed and cost-effective legal services.
  • Using strong communication skills, you’ll build and manage external relationships with clients carrying through assigned tasks and matters to conclusion.
  • Pragmatic in your advice, talented, and proactive, you’ll work effectively with client departments to find solutions.

Responsibilities

  • You’ll provide secure high-quality legal services, advice on all aspects of property and highways law and work closely with the Council’s departments to support the Council’s functions.
  • As part of this, you’ll deputise for the Principal Lawyer and, with your learned coaching skills, support junior members of the team to assist with their development and learning.
  • You’ll routinely attend meetings with directors and work with officers from instructing departments as well as with colleagues from across the service.
  • Using your expertise, you’ll provide solutions focused property and highways law advice and support to the Council and other public bodies.
