Responsibilities

  • Provide assessment and diagnosis of cognitive, emotional and psychosocial functioning for children and adolescents referred:
  • Administer, interpret and integrate assessment data including psychological tests
  • Write comprehensive and timely assessment reports on consultations, school visits and any follow up meetings
  • Formulate and implement treatment programs for individual patients in collaboration with other health care professionals in the Centre
  • Plan, conduct and/or supervise group therapy programs
  • Collect case history information through review of medical records, conducting family and client interviews and reviewing records and reports from other professionals
  • Evaluate treatment progress and treatment outcome for individual patients and for groups
  • Provide clinical training, teaching and supervision of graduate students from the clinical Psychology program of Queen’s University and/or the Kingston Internship Consortium
  • Provide professional teaching of psychological principles, theories and techniques to residents
  • Participate in own professional organizations; upgrade professional growth and development via attendance at conferences, workshops, etc. and disseminate information to Centre staff
  • Assignment and review of caseload, development of policies and procedures with regard to Psychology
  • Scan/transcribe confidential clinical reports, assessments and correspondence
  • Maintain a record of all daily activities in Goldcare as per KidsInclusive policy
  • Ensure maintenance of all client information, in accordance with privacy legislation and KHSC/KI policies
  • Participate in team meetings, discipline lead meetings and KI staff meetings
  • Development, implement, monitor and report quality assurance activities associated with psychology in the centre
  • Ensure maintenance of all client information, in accordance with privacy legislation and KHSC/KidsInclusive policies
  • Assist in maintaining inventory of equipment and supplies; make recommendations for purchases
  • Participate in team meetings, discipline meetings and KidsInclusive meetings
