What are the primary responsibilities of the PTA/OTA Assistant?
The PTA/OTA Assistant supports patients with treatment modalities under the direction of Physiotherapists, assists with mobility, and helps maintain/improve functional levels.
What qualifications are required for this position?
Candidates must be a graduate from a recognized Community College OT/PT Assistant program and have at least 2 years of acute care hospital-based experience, along with knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
What types of experience do candidates need?
Candidates should have experience in medicine, surgery, and geriatric care. Preference will be given to those with experience in orthopaedic and cardiorespiratory care.
Are weekend shifts mandatory for this role?
Yes, the PTA/OTA Assistant is required to work one Saturday and one Sunday shift out of every 4 weekends, including potential statutory holidays.
Is independent decision making encouraged in this role?
