Requirements

  • At least two years experience in promoting content, either in house or for an agency, preferably in television or the wider entertainment industry.
  • Experience of publicising projects on social media and within the digital sphere and an interest in innovations within that area

Responsibilities

  • Manage strategies and publicity campaigns for Emmerdale to cover all press, broadcast, digital media and content creators to reach target audiences;
  • A focus on ‘digital first’ campaigns with promotion within the digital space, influencer marketing and social media outlets to increase reach and look for new opportunities to reach lighter viewers via these outlets;
  • Work collaboratively with other areas of the wider marketing team, Emmerdale’s social team and picture publicity colleagues as well as the commissioning and production teams to devise fully cohesive and innovative publicity campaigns;
  • Identify opportunities for social media influencers both on set, in junkets and via experiential work and incorporate that work into campaigns;
  • Experience of publicising high profile TV programmes would be preferable;
  • Working collaboratively with the actors in relation to publicity for Emmerdale;
  • Managing crises and reputation management for Emmerdale, ITV Studios and the ITV network;
  • Identify potential press issues and work with the production team to devise appropriate action;
  • Write press information, brochure copy and press releases to deadlines;
  • Work collaboratively and as part of the Emmerdale press team sharing skills and best practices;
  • Form excellent working relationships with journalists across full range of media, including digital as well as social influencers;
  • Field and answer press inquiries via email and phone;
  • Provide written press updates and evaluations for campaigns to the Emmerdale Producers and production team and Head of Programme Publicity, Drama and Soaps.
