About the role

As a QA Automation Engineer, you’ll help ensure our application runs smoothly by identifying and supporting resolution of defects. You will also help develop automated testing frameworks and test scripts using tools like Cypress, Selenium, Appium, or other testing frameworks and libraries. Teamwork is important, therefore you’ll also collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop test strategies and plans, and identifying areas for test automation. Other key responsibilities include:

• Develop and execute automated and manual tests, and analysing test results to identify defects and areas for improvement
• Create test data, and continuously improving testing processes and methodologies to ensure high-quality software
• Stay up-to-date with latest trends and technologies in test automation, and using this knowledge to improve and innovate testing practices
• Provide regular reports and updates on test automation progress, coverage and results to cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Participate in the code release process / cycle

What you’ll need to have

• A sound understanding of the systems development life cycle as it relates to testing activities
• A good understanding of the software development process is desirable
• Experience with Cypress automation and Javascript, with at least one year of hands-on experience of scripting tests with a focus on using native Cypress functions
• Previous experience of using other tools like Selenium, Appium, Detox or other testing frameworks and libraries
• Experience in using Git
• Experience in testing Restful APIs
• Clear, simple and concise verbal and written communication
• Good experience working in an agile environment, collaborating members in and outside of squads
• Leading the QA effort within a squad, promote quality and bring items to completion
• Good knowledge of project and task management tools like Jira, Confluence and confident in using MS Office / Google Workspace applications
