Responsibilities

  • Drives Quality Control system for Business Unit by working cross-functionally with Supply Quality Engineers, Supply Base, Operations, Sales, and Engineering departments to critically evaluate the quality management system. Identifies opportunities for streamlining processes (LEAN manufacturing focus) to ensure quality products.
  • Leads ISO 9001 quality management ensuring continued registration.
  • Leads problem-solving and process improvement processes with manufacturing and customers to achieve resolution and elimination of current product issues.
  • Reviews, analyzes, and allocates Quality Assurance/Quality Control resources as required by project demand.
  • Develops and implements PFMEA analysis procedure to mitigate risks identified in each product line either from process or product standpoint.
  • Manages process control for Non-Conformance Material Reports (NCMR), supplier records, internal and supplier audit records, and other documentation record-keeping functions. Implements processes through relevant procedures, updating the Quality databases as required.
  • Manages and improves Incoming Inspection procedures.
  • Trains and leads the department in Document Control procedures to ensure proper management of the company’s Document Control system.
  • Reports customer and internal quality metrics to management. Drives corrective action to facilitate improvements.
  • Analyzes and evaluates Quality Assurance Lab labor costs and Lab expenses.
  • Works closely with Engineers to further develop test methods and data collection systems as well as qualification testing for finished goods, in-process goods, and raw materials.
  • Provides recommendations for improvements to the quality system, inspection methods, and equipment.
  • Coordinates Lab support for data collection & analysis in product capability & process validation studies.
  • Manages customer complaints, implements immediate, short, and long-term solutions, and coordinates a corrective action plan or continuous improvement procedures with suppliers—either internal or external.
