What qualifications are required for the Radiographer position?
A Bachelor’s Degree or diploma in Diagnostic Radiography is required, along with a Postgraduate Certificate in Mammography (preferable).
How many years of experience are necessary for this position?
A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in general radiography, mammography, and fluoroscopic procedures is required.
Is there a preference for experience in specific hospital environments?
Yes, it is desirable to have related experience in a tertiary hospital environment.
What types of procedures will I be performing as a Radiographer?
You will undertake and perform General Radiography, Bone Mineral Densitometry, Mammography, Fluoroscopy, and CT Scans.
Will I be required to manage patient interactions?
Yes, you will need to give instructions to patients, assess their needs, and ensure their comfort and understanding during examinations.
Are Radiographers involved in patient safety and emergency procedures?
Yes, Radiographers must be aware of emergency procedures and assist in emergency treatments, maintaining Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at all times.
Is ongoing training a part of this role?
Yes, you are expected to participate in mandatory training and actively pursue Continuous Professional Development while maintaining an up-to-date record of your learning.
Will I be working as part of a team?
Yes, you will work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team to provide efficient services to patients.
Are there any responsibilities related to equipment management?
Yes, you will be responsible for maintaining a high level of expertise in the operation of equipment, conducting routine inspections, and reporting any faults.
What is expected in terms of cleanliness and safety within the department?
You will be responsible for the general cleanliness, tidiness, and safety of the department, including adhering to health and safety rules and infection control procedures.
Will I need to handle non-radiographic duties within the department?
Yes, you will also accept and perform non-radiographic duties, such as making appointments and answering phones, as needed.
How important is confidentiality in this role?
Maintaining confidentiality of all matters pertaining to the Hospital, staff, and patients is crucial and must be adhered to at all times.
Is there a dress code for Radiographers?
Yes, you are required to adhere to the hospital dress code, wearing a uniform and identification badge while on duty.
