What are the primary responsibilities of the Registered Nurse in this position?
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing care in accordance with established standards and the mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures of Covenant Health. The RN may be assigned to work in the Obstetrical Outpatient Clinic, Operating Room/Post Anesthetic Recovery Room, and the Antepartum Unit within the Labour and Delivery area.
What qualifications are required to apply for this Registered Nurse position?
Applicants must be graduates of a Registered Nurse program or a recognized equivalent. They must hold an active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) and possess a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) certification. If the applicant has not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five years, they must complete additional courses, including the CRNA Medication Administration Certificate and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification.
Are there any additional qualifications that would enhance my application?
Yes, completion of or current enrollment in a recognized advanced nursing specialty program in perinatal nursing is required, along with two years of recent related experience. Additionally, having a Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification is preferred.
