What are the primary responsibilities of a Registered Nurse in the Emergency department?
The primary responsibilities include participating in nursing assessments and interventions, care planning, implementing prescribed treatments, administering medications, evaluating treatments, monitoring/documenting treatment progress, facilitating patient and family education, and discharge planning.
What are the required qualifications to apply for this position?
A graduate of a Registered Nurse program or recognized equivalent is required, along with active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) and a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) certification. If not practiced as a RN within the last five years, completion of specific free courses is also required.
How much experience is required for this position?
Previous Emergency Department experience, ICU/CCU experience, or two years of Medical/Surgical/Labor and Delivery experience is required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
What is the work schedule like for this position?
The position involves shifts that include evenings and weekends, with days off as per rotation. Each shift lasts 7.75 hours.

What certifications are preferred for applicants?

The minimum salary is $39.21, and the maximum salary is $51.46.
