Requirements

  • Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.

Responsibilities

  • New registered nurse (RN) graduates benefit from a comprehensive, personalized support system. All RNs in their first nursing role are invited to participate in a Nurse Residency Program alongside nursing orientation. The program provides socialization and support, enhances clinical judgment, and promotes professional development.
  • Medical Surgical Acute Care 5 is 37-bed acuity adaptable medical and progressive level of care unit. All beds are private rooms. Nurses are trained to care for medical / surgical patients. AC5 nurses primarily care for orthopedic, neuro, urology, trauma, and fracture surgeries along with general medical patients comprised of COPD, pneumonia, cellulitis, altered mental status, and other conditions.
