What are the main responsibilities of the Registered Practical Nurse position?
The main responsibilities include preparing and administering medications, documenting concerns and complaints, promoting client self-care, completing assessments and care plans, supporting unregulated care workers, and performing other assigned duties.
What qualifications are required for this position?
Candidates must have current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with the College of Nurses of Ontario, a Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate, a Medication Administration Certificate, and a minimum of one year of experience in Geriatric Nursing, Healthcare, and/or Rehabilitation.
Is there a preferred educational background for this role?
Yes, having post-graduate studies in Geriatrics and Nursing Administration is considered an asset.
What kind of screening is mandatory for applicants?
All applicants must successfully pass a prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check, and successful candidates must also meet provincial police check and tuberculosis screening requirements as applicable.
