What is the work schedule for this position?
This position is permanent part-time and involves night shifts.
What qualifications are required for this role?
Candidates must have current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with the College of Nurses of Ontario, a Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate, a Medication Administration Certificate, and a minimum of one year of experience in Geriatric Nursing, Healthcare, and/or Rehabilitation.
Are there any additional certifications that would be beneficial for applicants?
Yes, post-graduate studies in Geriatrics and Nursing Administration are considered an asset.
Is a Vulnerable Sector Check required for applicants?
Yes, all applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check.

The nurse is responsible for documenting and following up on all concerns and complaints forwarded by a client, family, or team members, and must inform or seek assistance from the Registered Nurse or designate.
What is the primary focus of care provided by the Registered Practical Nurse in this role?
The primary focus is to promote the client’s self-care and self-sufficiency, emphasizing adaptation, abilities, wellness, and preventative health education, thus treating the whole person.
What other duties may be assigned to the Registered Practical Nurse aside from direct patient care?
The Registered Practical Nurse may be assigned other duties as needed, which can include supporting unregulated care workers through guidance, direction, training, and education.
