Requirements

  • Graduate of a recognized School of Nursing
  • Current certification or eligibility for certification of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Practical Nurse is required
  • Current BCLS required
  • FIM certification or willingness to complete certification within 6 months of hire
  • Recent experience with inpatient medical population required
  • Recent experience with inpatient rehab population and complex care needs population required
  • Recent knowledge of the philosophy and concepts of geriatric rehabilitative nursing practice
  • Demonstrates ability to provide patients and families with educational resources
  • Demonstrates patient and family-centered care
  • Demonstrates knowledge and ability to establish a therapeutic relationship
  • Evidence of on-going professional development
  • Satisfactory attendance and performance required

  • - Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to rehab patients.
  • - Guide patients in their journey to independence and reintegration into the community through goal-focused therapy.
  • - Work towards improving the physical, cognitive, and communication problems caused by an injury or illness.
  • - Collaborate with patients to enhance their quality of life and support their return to meaningful activities.
  • - Optimize patient success through self-motivation, active participation, and family support.
