What is the primary function of the Rehab Support Worker role?
The primary function of the Rehab Support Worker role is to work alongside Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, and District Nursing Services within the Intermediate Care Team to deliver therapeutic treatment programs to service users, preventing hospital admissions and supporting early discharge from hospital.
What are the working hours for this position?
The position requires you to work 15 hours flexibly over 7 days, with service delivery expected from 0800 to 2200.
Is experience working with older people necessary for this role?
While it is not mandatory, having experience working with older people is desirable, as they are the main group of service users referred to the Intermediate Care Service.
What qualifications do I need to apply for this position?
You will need to have an SVQ Level III in Health and Social Care or an equivalent qualification.
Will I receive any training or support in this role?
Yes, our service offers regular supervision, personal development planning (PDP), and supports training opportunities.
Is travel required for this position?
Yes, the ability to travel throughout the area is essential, as this is a community post.
Can I expect to work at other community hospital sites?
Yes, there may be occasions where you will be required to work at one of the other community hospital sites.
Are there any changes to criminal records checks that will affect this role?
Yes, due to legislative changes effective from 1 April 2025, this post may require a different level of criminal records check than currently required, and your appointment may be subject to joining the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme if assessed as a "regulated role."
