Responsibilities

  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with the highest standards of responsible sourcing, keeping The Salvation Army ahead of legal requirements and industry expectations. Completion of The Salvation Army annual Modern Slavery statement is also a key deliverable of the role.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Drive research and strategic collaboration with key stakeholders to inform and mitigate risks related to modern slavery and human rights abuses.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Lead our partnership with the Issara Institute, driving initiatives such as supplier engagement, onboarding, supply chain mapping, and worker-led monitoring and remediation efforts.
  • Supplier Engagement: Work closely with strategic suppliers to set clear expectations on modern slavery and rights violations. Provide training, capacity building, and host annual forums to encourage the adoption of responsible sourcing practices.
  • Supplier Vetting: Assist in the vetting of potential and renewing suppliers through the Responsible Sourcing Supplier Questionnaire and maintain our Responsible Sourcing Toolkit.
