AI generated summary

  • You thrive in a dynamic retail environment, love our products, and engage customers with enthusiasm, bringing products to life through personal experiences and expertise.
  • You will welcome customers, assist with product selection, share product knowledge, maintain store presentation, process transactions, support promotions, and foster a positive team atmosphere.

Requirements

  • We are looking for a Retail Colleague (that’s our name for a Retail Assistant at Lakeland) and as a Retail Colleague you won’t just be helping customers visiting our store – you’ll be bringing a bit of theatre to the retail experience with your special brand of enthusiasm. You’ll be someone who not only loves our products but who lives them in their daily life: who might use our utensils to prepare breakfast before going to work, sell them all day, and then use them again at home in the evening. Armed with this kind of lived-in knowledge, our Retail Colleagues bring our products to life for our customers so they can see their unique benefits for themselves. As you may have gathered, this isn’t a role for those who want to mind their own business and blend into the background – we want people for whom all the store’s a stage and who will put our products in the lead role. If that’s you, this is your big break.

Responsibilities

  • Welcoming customers into the store with enthusiasm and warmth.
  • Helping customers find the perfect products for their needs.
  • Sharing knowledge about products to enhance the customer experience.
  • Demonstrating how to use products effectively.
  • Creating an engaging atmosphere in the store.
  • Maintaining the visual presentation of the store.
  • Processing transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Participating in team training and development activities.
  • Contributing to a positive team environment.
  • Ensuring the store is clean and well-organized.
  • Supporting promotional activities and events in the store.
  • Building rapport with customers to encourage repeat visits.

Mission & Purpose

As one of the UK's home shopping pioneers, with over 50 years of experience under our belts, Lakeland offers an unrivalled collection of creative kitchenware, practical time and effort saving ideas for the home, and inspiring gifts from all over the world. Our Buyers search for innovative products that make life easier, before putting them through a rigorous selection and testing process to ensure they meet our exacting standards. From everyday utensils and preserving essentials, to never-seen-before cookware and chore-busting ideas, if they've made it into our range, you can be sure they'll be long-lasting and offer great value for money. We’re so confident of this that every item we sell is backed by our 3-year guarantee – if you’re not delighted with your purchase or our service, please tell us so we can put it right. It's this dedication to superb service that has gained us such a loyal customer following over the years. Founded in the early 60s, we're still a family-owned business with the same strong values of quality and customer care now as when we first started. From selling plastic bags for home freezing from the Rayner family garage in Windermere, to over 4000 kitchen and home products today, Lakeland has grown to the extent that we now send out thousands of parcels a day from our Kendal despatch centre, and we have stores nationwide, stretching from Aberdeen to Truro, with more in the pipeline. If you visit any of our stores you can be assured of a warm welcome, and when you call our friendly team in Windermere, you'll always receive good advice and excellent service – our Customer Service team know the products inside out. We really hope you enjoy shopping with us and that you'll love our products as much as we do.
