Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for the MICE sales effort within The Americas (mainly US/Canada + Mexico).
  • To assist in putting together a complete action plan, in conjunction with other members of the Sales team.
  • To set and agree client listings, revenue targets and action plans for The Palace Hotel, Madrid.
  • To set and agree an effective tracking procedure for activities and results and participate in regular review sessions with the ADOS and Group Sales Team.
  • To overachieve all goals and targets set and agreed with the DOSM.
  • To complete a monthly report, detailing activities and financial results in line with company standards, goals and targets.
  • To work alongside the Marriott Global Sales Offices (GSO), in order to promote a positive message to clients.
  • To conduct sales trips to visit key clients/markets, if listed in the Sales & Marketing Plan.
  • To put together additional reports/feedback on areas/markets of responsibility if requested.
  • To plan and conduct site inspections/familiarisation trips at the hotels in line with Marriott International guidelines.
  • To act as a liaison with key travel partners, to encourage business into the hotels.
  • To plan and carry out presentations on behalf of the hotel/company.
  • To entertain clients in line with company guidelines/procedures.
  • To exchange leads and industry information where and when necessary to the GSOs and other hotels.
  • Actively promote all of Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program and achieve set targets.
  • Participate in regular Sales meetings – compiling all requested information and conduction of presentations if required.
  • Principally in charge of travelling to the USA/Canada (minimum 12 weeks of travel /year + Mexico once/year).
  • Input and record all activities and client listings into the Sales Management System (Opera).
  • Become familiar with all systems, procedures and computer equipment used by Archer Hotel Management.
  • Work alongside the hotel’s Events and Diary teams, to ensure a high conversion of all enquiries is achieved.
  • Communicate all relevant client information with the hotel’s Events & Diary teams, to ensure the highest levels of understanding of a client’s need are known throughout the organisation.
  • To ensure that all rate offers are communicated and loaded correctly and in accordance with company standards.
  • To ensure that a high level of understanding of all the hotel and company facilities, standards and services is attained and to undertake the responsibility to keep updated on any changes.
  • To ensure a high level of understanding of the destination, related attractions/travel information and competitor hotels/brands is achieved.
  • Responsibility for compiling expense reports on a regular basis and submitting to the DOSM for approval Following Archer Hotel Management’s Travel Policy.
  • Attend trade shows, exhibitions and industry events on behalf of the hotel.
  • Perform any duties deemed necessary and reasonable, requested by the ADOS or Hotel Executive Committee.
  • To present all written and verbal communication in a professional manner.
  • Investigate new market segments and opportunities for new business.
  • To attend all meetings and training sessions requested by Management.
