Responsibilities

  • The AAV Scientist I is responsible for supporting all aspects of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and production in the Clinical Manufacturing (CMF).
  • Collaborating with the Manager of GMP Operations and staff, the Scientist I will provide hands-on assistance for all day-to-day GMP/AAV production operations. This includes the execution of production processes, documentation, as well as facility and equipment maintenance.
  • The Scientist I will support production efforts to deliver all products in a timely, compliant, and fiscally responsible manner by following appropriate practices, batch records, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for manufacturing biological products.
  • The role involves 50-75% lab work and about 25% support paperwork and preparation for the next steps in the process.
  • The position entails work in a GMP research-grade production lab, focused on biology tissue culture with elements of chemistry. Responsibilities include working in collaboration with AAV management and staff to cultivate and enact the strategic direction of the GMP area, supporting PD resources and supply chain, operating and performing calibration and validation of facility equipment, assisting in process documentation review and revision, and working on process change controls. The role also involves making and developing viruses, working with media bags and Hyperstacks, and occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs.
