Responsibilities

  • Ensure all Security procedures & processes are in place across all countries
  • Oversee the TAPA Central Function requirements
  • Analyse Daily inspections and ensure data provided is correct
  • Oversee AVSEC compliance
  • Develop and maintain a fault reporting system to ensure all security related faults are attended to.
  • Frequently test security equipment to ensure they function optimally.
  • Ensure we use the latest security technologies to keep pace with the emerging threats and that we are conversant with such new technologies to ensure the security of our business.
  • Ensure new and major refurbishment of DHL Express facilities are designed by Engineering, Standard Equipment and Facilities (SEF) in conjunction with the Security Specialist to ensure the appropriate security measures are designed-in and poor security aspects are ‘designed out’.
  • Liaise with Country management to provide operational needs/views of security equipment
  • Provide Engineering with a preliminary budget
  • Ensure IT is involved from the planning stage to oversee cabling sourcing and installation
  • Develop a system to increase resource utilisation and oversight – request, RFQ, IT requirements, PO issuance, equipment delivery, installation commencement and completion, sign off (IT and security).
  • Challenges self and others to exceed standards and achieve extraordinary results striving for best-in-class.
  • Evaluates service providers in terms of installations; quality and quantity.
  • Ensure all projects are done through the procurement department.
  • Prepare and submit a forecast spending for the year to procurement in order to allow for timeous sourcing
  • Minimise sourcing requests through implementation of original requests
  • Ensure contracts are develop, DocuSign and filed for:
  • XRY equipment
  • Ensure all IT requirements are being met in terms of installation, compatibility and compliance.
  • Upgrade and patching software of the Gallagher access control system bi-annually in conjunction with IT and Gallagher technicians.
  • Ensure Gallagher training is updated and only authorised persons have access to the system.
  • Oversee printing of SSA ID Cards in accordance with data protection requirements.
  • Adhere to DHL policy and procedures
  • Ensure data protection is up-held and destruction of personal information is adhered to.
  • Develop annual report on technical security spent
  • Prepare monthly reports on Security Compliance – country level;
  • Project planning – status of projects;
  • Procurement coordination – RFQ’s received/outstanding and BCA completions;
  • IT compliance – Project sign off by IT/rejected, data protection compliance, virtual server progress and IT security.
  • Analyse compliance level on AVSEC and provide quarterly report on compliance
