SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: York, North Yorkshire

Salary: £83 - £100 per day

Start Date: September 2024

Contract Type: Full-Time

GSL Education are seeking SEN Teaching Assistants to work at a Client Secondary School in York, North Yorkshire. This is a mixed position that involves working with class teachers to ensure that lessons are delivered in accordance with students' individualized learning goals.

SEN Teaching Assistants Responsibilities


 * Assist teachers with lesson planning, delivering lessons under the teacher's guidance, and helping students with their learning
 * Provide dedicated support to students with SEN, both in and out of the classroom environment.
 * Foster a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere, ensuring the well-being and engagement of students with SEN.
 * Working with class teachers, other support staff and the senior leadership team to provide the best educational, emotional, and social support that you can.
 * Be involved in assessing students' work and providing feedback.
 * Assist with maintaining classroom discipline and supporting students with behavioural issues.
 * Work with students with special educational and help them adapt to teaching methods and materials.

 * Must hold the Right to Work in the UK.
 * Have a Level 4 or higher qualification.
 * You should have a relevant childcare or education-based qualification.
 * Be aware of and knowledgeable about different additional needs such as ASC, ADHD, MLD and SEMH.
 * Passion to working with young people to ensure barriers to learning are overcome.
 * Confident in the delivery of pre-planned lessons and interventions.
 * The ability to manage behaviour in-line with school policy.
