Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Take the lead on executing the monthly and quarterly financial close process for a number of complex subsidiaries and legal entities and identify opportunities to implement practical changes to drive improvements and efficiencies, including;
  • Preparing and executing on complex accounting steps and transactions
  • Preparing the consolidation and summarized financial results for various groups of companies on a quarterly and annual basis for internal management reporting and regulatory requirement
  • Leading the process of recording routine and non-routine journal entries;
  • Preparing monthly reconciliations including analysis of intercompany balances;
  • Leading quarterly intercompany billings;
  • Compile working papers for internal/external audit requests;
  • Prepare various quarter-end and year-end accruals and entries;
  • Prepare various analyses for internal management reporting and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate regularly with operating business groups and various Brookfield departments
  • Provide training and guidance to co-op students and new hires;
  • Assist with process documentation and continuously look for improvements to our processes, tools and reports and make suggestions to implement these into our deliverables
  • Participate in ad-hoc analyses and special projects as assigned.
