Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to Walmart Unemployment Services and stores by managing the entire appeals process, including filing appeals and preparing witnesses to testify, ensuring a thorough and strategic approach to defending unemployment appeals.
  • Provide continuous improvement recommendations for initial claims process and hearing support functions based on learnings and insights.
  • Review and analyze the determination letter to appeal decisions based on separation and chargeability.
  • Review and analyze state statutory guidance and prepare appeal packets.
  • Prepare and submit relevant documentation central to the appeal to the state utilizing each state guidelines for submission of evidence.
  • Identify and label relevant portions of documentation.
  • Identify the issues to be addressed at the hearing.
  • Compile evidence and label exhibits to submit to judge, claimant, and company representatives.
  • Prepare witness testimony by providing responses to essential questions.
  • Review the completed packet with the witness during a prep call and ensure they understand and can effectively testify for each exhibit.
  • Pull hearing decisions for cases worked to collect data to improve the hearing process.
  • Attend procedural hearings as needed.
