Requirements

  • 2-5 years of professional experience as an Analyst, preferably in Transportation Pricing
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills, including ability to work with large data sets, pivot tables, and macros
  • Experience using SAP, and Power BI or Tableau, e.g., creating reports, building dashboards
  • Proven technical ability to transform data models into actionable operational insights, and experience presenting recommendations to multi-functional teams
  • Knowledge of Transportation industry, including Rail services, and LTL operations
  • Self-motivated, with high level communication skills (both oral and written), and sharp attention to detail
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred (or an equivalent combination of work experience and education)

Responsibilities

  • Analyze profitability by lane and by vendor, considering multiple variables such as weight breaks, equipment type, commodity, and carrier mode, and make recommendations for increases or reductions in vendor pricing
  • Analyze current carriers, vendors, lanes, and market activity to improve pricing processes and operating results
  • Own and maintain pricing files, update source data files regularly, and partner with respective teams to validate data accuracy
  • Develop and maintain reporting to identify key areas of opportunity to improve pricing strategy and maximizing profit
  • Data modelling lane balancing and freight movement triangulation opportunities to identify competitive pricing advantages
  • Conduct in-depth descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analysis – presenting findings clearly and concisely to varying audiences across Supply Chain
  • Responsible for creating enriched visual insights and powerful tools to improve processes and efficiencies across Supply Chain
  • Work closely with internal business development teams, and provide support with vendor pricing as required
  • Utilize your understanding of LTL market strategies to develop pricing based on commodity and freight classes, and creating rules and limits for dimensional LTL freight
  • Develop accessorial cost model for the LTL shipping model, quantifying profitability impacts
  • Other duties as assigned
