Responsibilities

  • Managing strategic bids led by our key Work Winning community based in our UK offices. 50% of your time will focus specifically on supporting major infrastructure bids.
  • Leading/owning the implementation of best practice initiatives across the bid lifecycle
  • Creating new copy for marketing materials such as project sheets and CVs
  • Ensure all new proposals follow the UK Bid Request process before agreeing to support
  • Review bid documentation identifying key requirements, deadlines, win themes and raising potential issues
  • Check that the Commercial and Legal Team (CLT) is informed where necessary to ensure that contractual/legislative requirements are met
  • Organise and lead the Bid Kick-Off meetings for significant bids to agree commitment to bid, capture the win themes, identify key team members, case study projects and create the preparation of the bid timeline
  • Utilise answer-plan templates to structure bid responses, interviewing people where necessary to obtain the key content and write it up into a quality response
  • Review input to bids from technical teams against bid criteria, highlighting any potential gaps in information, and ensuring we have understood the client’s requirements and developed a tailored and focused response
  • Create additional bespoke content for the submission, by interviewing the necessary technical team members to capture the right story
  • Ensure that all submissions are well written, compliant with what the client has asked for, and are in line with agreed themes and the Buro Happold brand and our corporate message. Challenge any content that falls short of meeting the expected standard and score.
  • Design and collate submission documents – ensuring accuracy of input, proof-reading and spell checking, communicating additional graphic requirements with the Graphic Design team
  • Assist in the design and production of material relating to the client presentation stage of the bid process. Arrange and participate in mock-interviews to maximise our chances of winning.
  • Assist with the development of others, educating technical and non-technical staff on how to manage a bid effectively, guiding them through the process.
  • Identify and lead improvement initiatives to ensure our bid management process is current, and at the forefront of the latest technology
  • Collate, share and disseminate best practice and lessons learned from bid feedback.
  • Liaise with our Business Development team to ensure we’re aware of upcoming strategic opportunities
  • Monitor bid feedback, analysing our win / loss results and identify potential areas for improvement
