Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leadership of PPUK Compliance officers providing second line oversight & advisory support to varied business and product teams.
  • Accountable for delivering Risk & Compliance Program elements
  • Provide leadership and oversight for critical program deliverables including risk assessments, annual and periodic plans, policy development and all governance material preparation
  • Accountable for governance reporting across a range of developing KPIs, including PPUK Operational Control & Risk Committee, Audit Risk & Compliance Committee, along with other international and global Risk & Compliance meetings.
  • Design, implement & lead process/product reviews to identify and mitigate first line risks, both operational & regulatory, in line with PPUK policy and appetite and regulatory requirements.
  • Continuously maintain specific payment services risk and compliance knowledge to proactively advise on future and emerging regulatory risk & requirements across the evolving product offering.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (such as PPUK functional leaders, Global Financial Crime, Program enablement, internal control partners, product leaders) to identify clear steps necessary to mitigate those regulatory risks and provide recommendations in the form of clear business requirements
  • Working closely across the Risk & Compliance team and across functions, geography's and lines of defense regarding strategic development, alignment of processes and continuous improvement of policy and relevant control frameworks
  • Partner with business and enablement teams and work to implement Compliance Program changes to comply with the changing regulatory environment.
  • Partner on the compliance new product intake and change management intake processes and control requirements.
  • Design and implement oversight frameworks for future entity expansion programs.
  • Expected to provide very visible engagement with varied Sales & Marketing stakeholders, including being comfortable with constructive compliance challenge discussions.
  • Provide practical and extensive knowledge of Payment Service Providers in the UK, including in-depth knowledge of regulatory compliance spanning the UK environment, specifically expectations of the FCA and PSR.
  • Be a champion for positive customer outcomes and provide a demonstrable understanding of the FCA Consumer Duty assessment and measurement.
  • Provide innovative approaches to ensure PPUK's cultural alignment to Consumer Duty outcomes.
  • Be comfortable taking a considered position on compliance issues, sometimes based of limited or ambiguous information. While remaining open to new information or approaches and adapting decisions accordingly.
  • Support and challenge the first line of defence on identification and control of relevant compliance risks.
