Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of the new background check process and criteria for driver onboarding to ensure only qualified applicants are advancing to the next onboarding step. Work closely with Legal and Technology teams, as well as subject matter experts in the US and Canada. Post-launch, review flagged background checks, audit the system regularly, identify risks and improvements, and work with Legal and Technology teams to enhance the system.
  • Work closely with the Real Estate team to implement top-up vehicle insurance for drivers and own the execution of this program post-launch. These responsibilities include reviewing potential insurance vendors, selecting and setting up the vendor, developing up the insurance claims process for drivers, and helping triage/process claims for alleged incidents.
  • Identifies new technology features supporting compliance to Walmart internal and regulatory needs. Works closely with Legal, Compliance, and Technology to develop requirements and ensure a successful and timely launch. Features may address, but are not limited to, food safety, privacy, payments, or adapting to new provincial regulations.
  • Coordinate privacy compliance-related responsibilities within the Spark Driver team. Conduct preliminary privacy assessments for various aspects of the Spark Driver platform (both technology and process related), draft privacy disclosures (for the app/website/communications), partner with the Technology team on EPRAs (Enterprise Privacy Risk Assessments), and work closely with Legal and Privacy Compliance teams to ensure the platform is compliant.
  • Leads the execution of the Trust & Safety framework for the Spark Driver program. Monitors and actions critical (i.e. egregious) alleged incidents from customers, associates, and drivers. This process includes determining severity level of the alleged incident, coordinating stakeholders to investigate, escalating to the appropriate teams within Walmart and monitoring investigation progress, and/or deactivating drivers.
  • Owns the Trust & Safety framework for the Spark Driver program. Identifies improvements to the framework and related processes across partner teams and works with cross-functional stakeholders to prioritize and implement those enhancements.
  • Be a subject matter experience on compliance to Walmart’s standards as well as in the on demand/last mile gig industry. Stay up to date with industry trends and news. Train and mentor team members and cross-functional stakeholders on compliance best practices, as well as assist product owners with resolving any compliance-related issues for new technology features and enhancements.
