  • Graduate and/or PhD/doctorate degree in a discipline relevant to the course subject area (note that a bachelor’s degree coupled with relevant professional business experience may also be considered)
  • Superior communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with respect to academic reporting
  • Recent teaching experience in a post-secondary environment considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Preparing the course outline, designing relevant assignments, evaluating and grading student work, and submitting student grades on time;
  • Preparing content for the accounting lab associated with this course;
  • Teaching course content that follows the course description, established learning objectives, and university academic guidelines;
  • Delivering 26 75-minute lectures throughout the semester (unless otherwise discussed with the Associate Dean);
  • Encouraging and maintaining a safe and collaborative classroom environment;
  • Providing regular support to students on course work as required before and after each class, during office hours, and as required by students;
  • Meeting all submission deadlines as outlined by the Hill School of Business;
  • Consulting with the Associate Dean (Undergraduate Programs) on academic or student-related matters as needed; and
  • Other duties as assigned.
