  • Proven experience of creating highly-engaging, educational and entertaining video content for short, mid and long form platform purposes.
  • A drive to create flagship content formats and series that have value to various stakeholders and meet departmental and club-wide KPIs.
  • An appetite for analysing content publication performance and evolving production to improve key performance metrics.
  • Intricate understanding of platform functionality, including subsidiary pages where applicable, and how to optimise content performance.
  • An obsessive knowledge of football, Manchester United and an empathy with local and global fans, remaining sensitive to real-time sentiment.
  • Strong imaginative and creative flair with an experienced understanding of Adobe suite including Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro and Lightroom.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet ever-changing deadlines.
  • Managing a production schedule and delegating activity to other team members.
  • An ability to adapt swiftly to different platforms and evolve content for new features.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualising, developing, executing and analysing innovative content ideas that resonate with the club’s diverse global fanbase.
  • Tailoring video content for all specific platform formats, such as Stories, News Feed and Widescreen to optimise video viewership.
  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships with key internal stakeholders, including players and coaching staff, to ensure highest standards of production are achieved.
  • Fostering a positive and creative work environment, motivating and empowering the team to consistently deliver exceptional video content.
  • Collaborating with the Social Media Strategy Manager to fulfil daily social schedules and deliver global social media campaigns: partner activations, platform launches and ‘hero’ moments.
  • Managing the social team video production schedule and distribution plan, through delegating activity to team members, to ensure deadlines are achieved.
  • Communicating video preferences and best practices to internal stakeholders (marketing, ecommerce) and educating external stakeholders (partners) for maximum video viewership.
  • Monitoring social media trends, virals and formats from across the social media landscape to inspire our own ideas and bespoke formats.
  • Driving new platform follower growth through short-form video content across emerging channels, such as TikTok, Reels, Shorts, Stories, Snapchat and Discord.
  • Championing best-in-class social media practices and standards are upheld as inspiration for social team members, inclusive of full-time and freelance staff.
