Candidates should have relevant qualifications in Intensive Care Medicine and/or Anaesthetics, along with experience working in a clinical environment.
What is the work schedule like?
The position involves a full shift pattern with prospective cover for annual leave and study leave, totaling 10-13 Programmed Activities (PA) per week depending on agreed job plans.

Are there on-call responsibilities?
Yes, the position requires non-residential on-call shifts to provide coverage for Intensive Care.
Is there support for new consultants?
Yes, you will join a team of experienced Consultants and will work under some supervision in theatres depending on your experience.
What types of surgeries will I be involved in?
You will have the opportunity to work in main theatres covering maternity, gynaecology, orthopaedic and trauma, ophthalmology, and ENT procedures.

Yes, the Trust has strong links with Lancaster Medical School and is involved in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education.
Where are the hospitals located?
The primary hospital is Furness General Hospital, close to the Lake District, and you may also cover Westmorland General Hospital near Kendal, along with the Royal Lancaster Infirmary in Lancaster.
What level of support does the hospital provide for mandatory training?
The hospital maintains all mandatory training requirements to ensure that staff are up to date with necessary competencies.
