Responsibilities

  • Oversee employee benefit programs such as group health insurance, dental, life, disability, FSAs, and HSAs.
  • Manage employee benefit inquiries to ensure quick, equitable, and courteous resolution.
  • Process employee benefit enrollment and change forms within required time limits to meet payroll deadlines.
  • Assist in conducting benefits orientation meetings and enrollment of new employees in benefit plans.
  • Assist with coordination of annual open enrollment process, including preparing, distributing, and receiving materials and forms.
  • Assists VP of Human Resources in evaluating and comparing existing agency benefits.
  • Responsible for reconciliation of benefit premiums between the Payroll system and the Benefit system.
  • Manage all Leaves of Absence, in coordination with 3rd party vendor and Benefit and Leave Coordinator to determine eligibility for various leave programs including Family and Medical Leave (FMLA) and temporary disability leave according to established guidelines and ensure that employees are provided with required timely notice.
  • Work with Employee Relations and HR Compliance Manager and Benefit and Leave Coordinator to assess any employee work accommodations that may arise.
  • Manage Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives for the organization which includes oversight of the DEI Committee, serving as a resource and trusted advisor to employees on DEI-related matters, providing guidance, support, and facilitating open dialogue.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPI’s) to measure the effectiveness of DEI initiatives and employee experience programs.
  • Maintain confidential databases and other tracking mechanisms to support the work of the Human Resources Department.
  • Accurately record and store information, forms and documentation in required areas and in the employee files/electronic records.
  • Provide guidance and orient employees on human resources related matters and including agency policies.
  • Review and/or approve assigned staff timecards, time sheets, leave requests and overtime.
  • Understand and suggest procedures to effectively utilize the department’s various databases, systems and workflow.
  • Lead the implementation of new HRIS modules in Paylocity or other systems.
  • Coordinate with vendors to have uninterrupted flow of information between the various HRIS systems.
  • Assist with duties of department staff as needed.
  • Act as role model to staff.
  • Any additional duties as assigned.
