Responsibilities

  • Partner with business leaders and BUHR to define the most effective and efficient ERLR strategies
  • Maintaining the highest standards of Our Credo in our ERLR activities and the employee experience
  • Manage assigned operational activities to achieve target key performance indicators, service and operational level agreements.
  • Guarantee prompt and compliant management of intricate grievance investigations and disciplinary requests.
  • Partner with Employment Law Counsel
  • Collaborate effectively with other pillars of HR ensuring a ONE HR approach to our stakeholders
  • Offer guidance and support to Employee Relations/Labor Relations professionals.
  • Lead and coach others in managing grievance, discipline, and policy interpretation requests that require advanced knowledge and authority, along with interaction with third parties, such as preparing position statements for claims submitted to government agencies (e.g., EEOC, DOL, or state agencies)
  • Develop ER/LR policies for a region or a country
  • Serve as Common Ground facilitator
  • Facilitates and mitigates risk through direct interventions with managers and employees in handling highly sensitive cases and escalations.
  • Stay informed about employment and labor practices in the relevant country or countries; notify management of regulatory changes
  • Lead a team of Employee Relations professionals who support various geographies and processes within the region, collaborating with respective Global Services and HR teams to achieve desired ER/LR outcomes and outstanding service.
  • Enhance the team’s capabilities by organizing regular training and knowledge-sharing sessions to improve their understanding of the country, state and local laws and their effect on J&J policy.
  • Conduct environmental assessments and engage in significant workplace events, such as the planning and execution of reductions in force (RIFs) and mergers and acquisitions (M&As) at the cluster or country level.

  • Create and conduct training sessions on Employee Relations/Labor Relations for Business Unit HR and People Leaders
  • Be a Change Agent through development and implementation of change management and communication strategies for ERLR
  • Comprehend the Key Performance Indicators and operational metrics essential for effectively managing service delivery, ensuring compliance with Service Level Agreements and customer service standards. Analyze and convert these metrics into actionable insights for the business.
  • Propose continuous improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing service delivery by assessing and offering feedback on operational processes, policies, standard operating procedures, and work instructions, and implement key improvement plans for execution.
