What is the purpose of the Intensive Support Team (IST)?
The IST provides a community-based assessment and treatment service for adults with learning disabilities who challenge services and have additional mental health needs, aiming to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions.
Is this a permanent position?
No, this is a fixed-term/seondment opportunity for 12 months.
What is the working hours for this position?
The position is full time, requiring 37.5 hours a week over a 7-day rota.
What is the pay band for this staff nurse position?
You will initially be employed as Band 5 while working towards Band 6 competencies, with the aim to progress to Band 6 pay step 1 after successful completion.
What will happen if I do not meet the required competencies to progress to Band 6?
An action plan will be put in place to help you address competency gaps, and you will remain as a Band 5 without confirmation of moving to Band 6 at this time.
What kind of training will I receive?
You will receive in-house training for Positive Behaviour Support.
Will I be working alone or with a team?
You will be working within a multidisciplinary team (MDT) that includes various healthcare professionals such as psychiatrists, psychologists, physiotherapists, and therapists.
What kind of support can I expect for my professional development?
You will receive regular supervision and have opportunities for continued professional development (CPD).
