Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow relationships with key channel partners (account management), and generate new sales through those partners (business development).
  • Act as the main point of contact between organizations, build strategic relationships, and provide guidance and support to help partners deliver a Trainline-powered rail offering that benefits both businesses.
  • Collaborate with channel partners to reach end customers who use their platforms to book rail. You’ll identify opportunities, lead negotiations, close deals, and support delivery.
  • Explore and evaluate new opportunities in the leisure travel market, including OTAs, MaaS platforms, and tour operators.
  • Use your strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with your passion for business development and negotiation.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with customer teams and internal Trainline teams (including supply, product, integration, tech, finance, and commercial operations) to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Apply your understanding of business or leisure travel markets in Europe to inform your sales strategy.
  • You will be responsible for driving incremental net ticket sales through your portfolio.
  • As an account manager, guide your channel partners in developing a leading rail offering that supports their product and commercial goals.
  • As a business developer, generate new sales by signing and onboarding potential customers (e.g., TMCs and travel sellers in the leisure market) who book via Trainline’s channel partners.
  • Attend key travel industry events across Europe as a visitor or exhibitor.
  • Map out new business opportunities in priority European markets.
  • Identify, engage, and qualify targeted outbound leads.
  • Filter and qualify inbound leads.
  • Manage the full sales cycle: understand client needs, propose tailored solutions, pitch commercial offers, negotiate terms, and close deals.
  • Support integration of Trainline solutions into the customer environment.
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects and help launch strategic initiatives.
