Description
- Our transactional teams work closely with our regulatory lawyers who have been at the forefront of the debate around the changing regulatory landscape. In particular, we have been involved in co-ordinating, drafting and presenting market responses on retail structured products, UCITS, AIFMD and ETFs through the Joint Associations Committee comprising ISDA, ICMA and AFME and the UK Structured Products Association (UKSPA). We are also actively involved on various ICMA, FMLC, FOA and UKSPA committees.
Requirements
- Education / qualifications / experience:
- Law graduate with a first or upper second class degree or equivalent
- Completion of LPC preferable
- Minimum 12 months' paralegal experience would be preferable
- General skills:
- It is expected that the candidate will have a highly organised and methodical approach to the role as well as confidence with IT systems.
- Attention to detail and the confidence to work independently as well as in a team
- Highly motivated and commercially astute
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- The ability to work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy
- Self-motivated, hardworking, reliable and works well under pressure

Responsibilities
- Working closely with fee earners and our clients in the Structured Finance & Derivatives groups in the UK and globally to provide assistance with transactions and listings on regulated markets, other stock exchanges and multilateral trading facilities - including drafting, reviewing and proof-reading legal documents.
- Working closely and developing relationships with stakeholders in the prospectus approval and listing process including listing agents, national regulators and stock exchanges.
- Assisting with the promotion and marketing of the Simmons & Simmons listing practice.
- Researching points of law and other factual issues and preparing reports and external know how on the same.
- Providing general legal support to the group.
