Requirements

  • Education / qualifications / experience:
  • Law graduate with a first or upper second class degree or equivalent
  • Completion of LPC preferable
  • Minimum 12 months' paralegal experience would be preferable
  • General skills:
  • It is expected that the candidate will have a highly organised and methodical approach to the role as well as confidence with IT systems.
  • Attention to detail and the confidence to work independently as well as in a team
  • Highly motivated and commercially astute
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • The ability to work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Self-motivated, hardworking, reliable and works well under pressure
  • Willingness to learn and develop area of specialist knowledge
  • Confident and enthusiastic manner
  • Self-motivated and highly proactive

Responsibilities

  • Working closely with fee earners and our clients in the Structured Finance & Derivatives groups in the UK and globally to provide assistance with transactions and listings on regulated markets, other stock exchanges and multilateral trading facilities - including drafting, reviewing and proof-reading legal documents.
  • Working closely and developing relationships with stakeholders in the prospectus approval and listing process including listing agents, national regulators and stock exchanges.
  • Assisting with the promotion and marketing of the Simmons & Simmons listing practice.
  • Researching points of law and other factual issues and preparing reports and external know how on the same.
  • Providing general legal support to the group.
