Requirements

  • 0-2 years’ experience in Design and/or Drafting disciplines with a background in Electrical substation or Transmission line design preferred
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Drafting/Design or Engineering Technology preferred; minimum GED Diploma with drafting or electrical design training.
  • Basic experience working with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
  • Basic experience with Microsoft office, Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to work in a growing, adaptive, and multi-discipline team environment
  • Legally able to work within the United States for any length of time
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, fluent in the English language

Responsibilities

  • Work with Engineers and Designers to develop the design documents and drawings for Substation or Transmission Line projects.
  • Create substation design/construction drawing packages including general arrangements, elevation and detail sheets, bill of materials, conduit and cable schedules,.
  • Provide drafting support for various types of substation design files including physical, electrical P&C (protection and control), and structural..
  • Utilize company standards, client standards, and/or Engineering direction to produce new 3d models, drawings, and update existing design files.
  • Train, develop and mentor the less-experienced design team members
  • Perform quality control checks and provide feedback to team members
