Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience in a dedicated sustainability role with compliance responsibilities, preferably in a large organisation.
  • A detailed applied and theoretical knowledge of environmental sustainability, industry standards, best practices and legislation– particularly as they relate to the UK.
  • Proven experience in sustainability reporting including ESOS, SECR and Extended Producer Responsibility.
  • A qualification in environmental management is highly desirable.
  • Membership or working towards membership of a professional environmental association is essential.
  • Experience of working in events is highly desirable.
  • Analytical approach to data and reporting to translate into insights and evaluation.
  • Project management experience.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Proficient in spreadsheets, database management systems and analysis via various platforms and software.
  • Excellent communication, motivation and influencing skills at all levels with a knack for diplomacy.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee internal data collection outreach and ensure environmental data consistency across the UK market.
  • Coordinate and work with internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to finance, compliance, legal, regional and global sustainability teams to develop a robust Data Collection & Reporting program.
  • Implement reliable and auditable processes and controls for environmental data collection, validation, and reporting. Integrating with existing systems and/or evaluate opportunities for improvements to streamline efforts.
  • Develop, review, monitor and oversee the delivery of market and business level action plans for our festivals, venues and touring business areas covering the Green Nation charter areas.
  • Measure success and cost-effectiveness of strategic projects to deliver Green Nation goals.
  • Research sustainable solutions and provide expertise, advice and support on sustainability issues to other departments as required.
  • Prepare reports on market sustainability progress, quarterly / annual reports as needed.
  • Conduct meetings and report detailed project progress to senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Represent the organisation in public events and the industry group’s discussions related to sustainability as required.
