Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental science, Hospitality Management, Sustainability, or related fields.
  • Experience: 2-3 years in Sustainability Management, preferably in the Hospitality industry.

Responsibilities

  • Verifies compliance with Brand Standard Audit (BSA) requirements of Marriott International throughout the operations.
  • Formulate and lead the implementation of sustainable practices that align with the hotel's operational goals and brand values.
  • Monitor and manage the hotel’s environmental impact, focusing on energy conservation, waste reduction, water management, and the reduction of the carbon footprint.
  • Ensure that hotel operations incorporate sustainability principles, including sustainable sourcing, green housekeeping practices, and eco-friendly guest experiences.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international environmental laws and standards, including hotel industry-specific regulations.
  • Work closely with hotel management, staff, guests, suppliers, and local community organizations to foster sustainability initiatives.
  • Conducts sustainability training sessions for hotel staff and promote a culture of environmental awareness.
  • Compile and present sustainability reports to hotel management, showcasing the effectiveness and progress of environmental programs.
  • Stay informed on industry best practices and incorporate new sustainability trends and technologies into the hotel's operations.
  • Develop programs and activities that encourage guests to participate in and support the hotel's sustainability efforts.
  • Works closely with the EHSMS Manager and Director of Engineering.
