Requirements

  • Hold Teaching Assistant Level 1, 2, or 3 qualifications are desirable but not essential.
  • Be an excellent and inspirational class practitioner, with children's well-being at the forefront of all actions.
  • Have high expectations for pupils' achievement and behaviour.
  • Possess excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
  • Previous experience working with children or adults in a caring capacity.
  • Demonstrate transferrable skills such as teamwork, initiative, flexibility, adaptability, remaining calm under pressure, caring, and helpfulness.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (Can apply for one through GSL Education).
  • All applicants must be eligible to work in the UK, or eligible to apply for a relevant work visa.

Responsibilities

  • - Work with groups of children aged between 1 and 11 (Nursery, Early Years to Year 6) to support their learning.
  • - Follow instructions and guidance provided by the class teacher.
  • - Ensure children's safety both in and out of the classroom.
  • - Supervise children during playtime and lunchtime.
  • - Prepare classroom materials, including cutting, sticking, photocopying, and laminating.
  • - Observe and provide feedback to the class teacher regarding children's learning.
  • - Effectively manage off-task behaviours.
