Responsibilities

  • Develops a long-term training vision and strategy for the plant.
  • Drives a culture of training, establishes training standards and holds managers/associates accountable for misses related to training.
  • Establishes training MDI and problem solves around training gaps which may include but not limited to driving plant training A3.
  • Leads a cross-functional team through expanding the training dojo. This includes the physical space as well as all the material and documentation needed.

  • Leads team of trainers and works with local external resources (community colleges, training centers, grants, state incentives etc.) for training programs that cannot be developed in-house.
  • Coordinates with HR, EHS and Operations team to ensure associates are trained and recertified on time. Administers and maintains training records.
  • Works with subject matter experts to evaluate, update and develop technical training curriculum.
  • Develops, follows and implements standard work for training.
  • Creates technical training program, that could include but not limited to; braze excellence, wiring excellence, TWI, TLDP, leadership training, hands-on simulated scenarios, presentations regarding procedures, job expectations and regulatory requirements; and general information intended to expedite development of personnel during onboarding process and/or employee development.
  • Creates, documents, delivers, and tracks training activities.
  • Collaborates with leaders to build competencies and training qualifications.
  • Develops evaluation process and conducts evaluations to give feedback in determining promotions and/or career progress. Interviews candidates with TA to determine placement.
  • Leads, schedules and organizes technical training classes. Schedules rooms, Dojo, trainers, and resources for other required training (HR, EHS, etc.)
  • Participates in production projects that require training, works with project team to establish training needed and assures training has been completed.
  • On-boards new hires, including new hire orientation, and assigns them to training sessions.
  • Maintains understanding of new educational and training techniques and methods. Attends training seminars, conferences and other events to keep updated with latest trends and technology in training.
  • Other assignments as assigned by manager and driven by business need.
