Responsibilities

  • Utilize field observations, AVL systems, and surveillance to monitor live service performance, and recommend proactive measures to address operational challenges or needs.
  • Recommend improvements or projects for the transportation system, considering economic factors, population trends, land use patterns, and traffic projections.
  • Review development plans to assess their impact on the transportation system, evaluate infrastructure needs, and ensure compliance with relevant transportation regulations.
  • Assist with coordination of contract staff and ensuring adherence to operational terms, standards, and protocols.
  • Partner with external agencies to gather information on road detours, bulletins, and related updates.
  • Provide operational and planning direction for all service types, including monitoring road construction and special events.
  • Assist with development of standard operating procedures, including guidelines for facility usage, snow reroutes, and layover locations.
  • Validate and address customer or stakeholder concerns, offering guidance to service providers when necessary.
  • Participate in public meetings or hearings to articulate planning proposals and gather stakeholder insights.
  • Generate innovative design concepts for enhancing or creating new transport infrastructure, including junction improvements and pedestrian projects.
  • Conduct bus timing tests and route reviews for existing and new services and detours.
  • Assist in monitoring procedures related to service detours, ensuring effective communication with providers and internal staff.
