  • Working knowledge of anatomy, physiology, disease processes, and familiarity with statistics with the ability to analyze and draw inferences from statistical data.
  • Positive interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency with computers and understanding of medical terminology.
  • Ability to use resources of other institutions and physician offices to obtain/analyze trauma related data.

Responsibilities

  • Provides quality, safe patient care and exceptional customer service.
  • Contributes to creating and maintaining a collaborative work environment.
  • Champions actions to reduce/eliminate patient risks.
  • Incorporates customer needs and expectations into daily operations.
  • Collaborates with all customer groups (staff, physicians, patients, family, external customers) to determine customer expectations. Completes daily analysis of medical records for trauma patients and determines eligibility for registry reporting.
  • Maintains registry, orderly records of data to be coded and abstracts.
  • Completes daily obligations addressing case discovery, patient rounds and performance improvement process.
