Are you a vet looking for an opportunity to progress in your career? Are you interested in pursuing your clinical interests or completing a certificate? Perhaps you would like to shape and grow your own role, or maybe you have recently qualified and are looking for a supportive environment.

With guidance and development from both practice colleagues and our highly experienced regional team, you can develop your skills in a direction of your choosing.

At Huddersfield Vets for Pets our caseloads are everything you would expect from a busy general practice, giving you the perfect base from which to build your own clinical interests. We aim to keep as much in-house as possible so welcome visiting specialists where needed but would love to bring these skills in house and will support any desire to do so. This is a great opportunity for you to get stuck into a growing business and make your mark.

You’ll be joining a close-knit team who often meet up at the weekends for dog walks in the beautiful surrounding countryside. We pride ourselves on being active members of the community, supporting local events such as The Honley agricultural show. Based in a market town in West Yorkshire, Huddersfield is situated close to Manchester and Leeds, and provides excellent transport links and close proximity to the stunning Peak District National Park to the south and Yorkshire Dales to the North. We’re also close to local amenities including a nursery. Take a tour of our practice here to see more.

This position can be fully flexible, working 3 days a week. Currently our opening hours are 8:30am - 7pm Monday to Friday with no weekends or bank holidays. No on call or OOH, as this is provided by Leeds Birstall Vets for Pets hospital. You should be confident in routine surgical and medical cases and comfortable with sole charge.

As standard, in addition to a salary up to £65,000 FTE + £5,000 Welcome Bonus, we offer all the benefits you’d expect from a major employer (pension, healthcare, paid memberships etc.) plus a few more, such as excellent career progression and exclusive lifestyle and shopping discounts (up to 30% off at Pets at Home). We’re also happy to provide relocation packages from within or outside the UK, including visa sponsorship if needed (we’re an A+ rated sponsor).
