Requirements

  • Completion of a professional degree in Electrical Engineering
  • LEED accreditation strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of NEC and IBC standards
  • Knowledge of key performance parameters for lighting and controls
  • Knowledge of key architectural considerations for electrical equipment such as electrical room sizing, clearances, ceiling, and interstitial space constraints
  • Knowledge of key electrical considerations such as voltage and phase, transformers,
  • motors
  • Knowledge of discipline-specific Electrical calculation software tools
  • Exhibits initiative, process innovation, problem solving, and decision quality with a high attention to precision and accuracy at a task specific level
  • Actively collaborates at a project team level by critically and constructively evaluating ideas
  • Effectively communicates internally through timely and appropriate written, oral and visual means.
  • General understanding of sustainable strategies and principles that can be applied to high performance projects.
  • Familiarity with LEED, WELL and other green building rating systems required.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit and Google Suite

Responsibilities

  • Prepare electrical load calculations and coordination using approved software
  • Complete electrical schedules, size electrical equipment, complete circuiting under supervision
  • Prepare lighting and power drawings, including relevant detail sheets and schedules under supervision
  • Assists with field surveys of electrical equipment and systems
  • Responsible for Project CAD and Revit Coordination
  • Maintains project documentation, including calculations, project filing, etc.
  • Interfaces with vendors under supervision
  • Manages time and workload to meet project task deadlines and commitments with regular interaction and direction from project leaders.
