What qualifications are required for the Young Adult Diabetes Specialist Nurse position?
Applicants must be qualified diabetes specialist nurses with a strong interest in working with young adults aged 16-25 with diabetes.
Where will the post holder be based?
The post holder will have a base at Mile End Hospital but will work across all Barts Health sites, including Whipps Cross Hospital, Newham University Hospital, the Royal London Hospital, and St Barts Hospital.
What age group will the Young Adult Diabetes Specialist Nurse be working with?
The nurse will support young adults aged 16-25 who are living with both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.
What kind of support will the post holder provide?
The post holder will provide management plans, treatment advice, and support for young adults with diabetes and their carers, as well as engaging with multidisciplinary team members like social workers and psychologists.
Is there an opportunity for service development in this role?
Yes, the post holder will have the scope to develop the service with the support of senior colleagues and in collaboration with service users.
