Chat with usAbout usThe UWL Aviation Society is a student led group that aims to provide both social and recreational aviation activities to students across The University of West London with an interest in aviation. Supported by lecturers and faculty members of the London Geller Collage of Hospitality and Tourism, the society hosts a variety of trips, social events and discussions covering a range of academically enriching aviation subjects, as well as aspiring members towards future career prospects. Thanks to the location of the St Mary's Campus, the UWL Aviation Society is ideally situated, close to one of the world's busiest international airports, London Heathrow and also benefits from access to the excellent simulator facilities on campus. In 2019, the society was represented at the annual Royal Aeronautical Society's 'Aerochallenge' competition, was granted access to see the behind the scenes operation at RAF Brize Norton, hosted trips to the Imperial War Museum in Central London and the London Gatwick Job Expo as well as various social evenings. This year promises to be equally busy!Whether you've an interest in military, commercial, private or space aviation, the UWL Aviation Society offers you the chance to meet fellow students with a common interest and gives you the opportunity to engage in extra curricular activities beyond the university campus and represent the University in nationwide acclaimed competitions with our partner societies.MembershipJoining as a member will give you access to the societies social events that take place every few weeks, trips to various museums, events and airports, competitions, debates and much more! The majority of outside trips and non-campus events hosted by the UWL Aviation Society take place within London and in Ealing/Acton. Members are usually requested to make their own travel arrangements. Central London is easily accessible via London Underground for less £5 per trip. The society always endeavours to keep the cost of trips and events to the absolute minimum.£5Events and ActivitiesSo what can you expect in 2020-21?We are putting together a packed schedule of socials, events, competitions, trips and debates, here is what you can look forward to:October 2020:"Welcome to London" - a special engagement trip for new 1st year and foundation students.
