We are KCL's Biotechnology and Synthetic Biology society, founded in 2020. Although we are still quite a new society, we have a lot in store and can't wait to explore the world of Biotechnology, Synthetic Biology, Entrepreneurship, and everything in between! Our lovely committee are super excited to be host talks with leading academics about some of the stunning research in SynBio, founders of Biotech Start-Ups, and some of our very own student researchers at KCL (and how you can get involved!).Our events are meant for everyone - even those without a Life Sciences or Chemical/Biomedical Engineering backgrounds. The world of Biotech needs individuals from all disciplines, from Geography to Economics. We hope you'll join us this year and gain more insight into this field! We also participate in the International Genetically Engineered Machine (iGEM) - a world renowned competition about Synthetic Biology and Genetic Engineering. This is our fourth year participating and we have already brought home two silver medals, a gold medal and the trophy for the best therapeutics project in the overgraduate division.
