LSE Blockchain is at its core an educational hub that aims to empower students with developments in the Blockchain world, from the markets to the technical aspects, from decentralised finance to governance. We run regular events and aim to bring together students from all over London, young professionals and industry experts to collaborate, learn and develop connections in the space. With events running from hackathons to conferences, often combining with London Blockchain Labs, or Imperial/UCL Blockchain societies, they are jam-packed with the latest developments in Blockchain and all related technologies. Our members are given the opportunity to engage with fellow blockchain enthusiasts across London, with an unparalleled lineup of academic talent supporting learning and growth. We deliver world class events through careful planning and past experience that effectively engage with the blockchain community at LSE.
MembershipMembership is important due to the nature of the events we aim to deliver on a weekly basis. Since they are likely to attract sizeable crowds from LSE students (but also other universities and young professionals), membership fees goes towards running them as efficiently as possible, with refreshments provided. Events such as "Decentralised Drinks" and pizza evenings are also common and provided to members as a way to socialise and network with other blockchain enthusiasts, giving everyone a chance to meet new friends. Having been awarded a "Bronze" star this year, we are committed to giving back to the LSE community, running a mentorship program and developing close ties with firms in the industry such as Consensys, Vega protocol and Outlier Ventures, all offering expert advice for employment/internship opportunities. We also offer members the chance to run for the committee in London Blockchain Labs, the UK's largest student hub for Blockchain with over 2,000 members, either in the labs, market, events or marketing team, giving them a fantastic opportunity to oversee the running of a world-class student community with the principal aim of educating others on the novel technology.
Events and Activities Our events and activities are usually in the form of panels, conferences or debates with industry leading experts in FinTech & DeFi, Crypto research, Sustainable Futures and the wider macroeconomy, with firms such as Outlier Ventures, Gemini, the Imperial College Centre for Cryptocurrency Research and CBJS. Each event usually finishes with the opportunity to meet the speaker or other attendees in a nearby pub for more conversation and networking. Other less serious events involve regular socials such as Decentralised Drinks, meals out or even a venture to LSE's pub "The Three Tuns" and Zoo Bar! Â
