Bristol University Drones Society (BUDS)

BUDS will be perfect for you to have fun with hands-on activities from learning how to build a drone and “sending” it to the sky. As a student-driven society, we aim to promote a unique and immersive drone flying experience for any University of Bristol students regardless of the course that you are doing or your prior experiences with drone flying. Drone flying transfers your consciousness into a fast-flying machine that can reach a top speed of 100 km/hr, how exciting is that? We shall be posting details of the events on our WhatsApp group/Instagram page, so follow us to stay tuned. The membership costs are £3 if you get it at the start of the year or £5 otherwise. This is for the whole academic year, enabling you to enjoy the benefits of borrowing expensive equipment with zero rental fees. Lastly, suppose you are fascinated by the fast-developing drone technology and this high-speed sport. In that case, you might want to be part of our drone racing team in the IUDRO (International University Drone Racing Organisation) league. This may be the chance for you to represent UOB and compete with other drone racing teams across the globe, most of the expenditure will be sponsored by IUDRO.
